About Us
Our Purpose
The Seventh Day Pentecostal Church of God was formed as a fellowship
of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is
to know Christ and to be conformed to His image by the power of the
Holy Spirit and therefore bring glory to God. Acknowledging Jesus
Christ as Savior and Lord, we purpose to lead people to faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ; to aid believers in their growth to maturity in
the faith and to aid maturing Christians in finding their place of
service in the body of Christ.
Our Position
We Believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, without error
in the original writings, and the Supreme and final authority in
doctrine and practice (I Tim. 3:16-17; II Pet. 1:21; John 17:7). And
whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him (Col. 3:17). We
believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and
redeem sinful man. We believe that he accomplished our redemption
through His Death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice. We
believe that our redemption and Salvation is guaranteed by His
literal, physical resurrection from the dead (Jn. 1:1, 14, 18; Lk.
1:35; Rom. 3:24-26; 4:25). We believe that Salvation is a gift of
God and is received by man through personal faith in Jesus Christ
and His sacrifice for sin. We believe that man is justified by grace
through faith apart from works (Acts 13:38-39; Rom. 6:23; Eph.
2:8-10).
Our Outreach
We believe in evangelism in our city, our country and the uttermost
parts of the world. Therefore, we actively participate in missions
through personal involvement and monetary support of local and
foreign missionaries. We share our Lord’s special love for widows,
orphans, prisoners and the poor (Acts 1:8, Matt. 25:31-46:
28:18-20).
Our Membership
The requirements necessary for membership in our local church is
that one repent be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins (Acts 2:38) and that one knows the Lord Jesus
Christ as his personal Savior. When an individual places his faith
in Jesus Christ for Salvation, he is automatically placed by God into
Christ’s body, the universal church. Therefore, we do not see the
necessity of any further obligation to become a member of our local
body. The New Testament teaches that the Lord desires that all who
have placed their faith in Him be baptized in His name as an outward
sign of their inward commitment. If you desire membership in our
church, please notify the pastor of your decision. If you wish, we
will write your previous church and request that your membership be
transferred to our fellowship. If you desire to be baptized as a
believer in Christ, simply let us know. We will make the necessary
arrangements.
Our views toward denominational affiliation
We have no denomination affiliation, yet we share spiritually a
common evangelical faith with a variety of churches. These may be
denominational churches or independent churches.
Our Giving
We believe in the Biblical teaching on giving to the Lord and to the
needy. Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say,
wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offering (Malachi 3:8).
